We had a great weekend celebrating the youngest Lyttle one. Last year, we were still waiting for a 'match'. We hadn't even seen Chloe's face (we received her file a week after her 2nd birthday). Now one year later, we can't imagine life without her! This girl is the epitome of joy. She is amazingly resilient, joyful, loving, sweet, to name a few of her characteristics. We are so thankful that she is ours! Never again will she spend a birthday without knowing the love of her forever family.
We chose a Panda theme for this birthday. Chloe was given a stuffed panda bear this summer from her Uncle, after a trip to the National Zoo. The panda was named Bao Bao, after the panda born at that zoo by the same name. Chloe latched onto that panda from day one, and has fallen head over heels in love with anything and everything panda. All pandas are now known as Bao Bao in our house, and not only our house but in the house of all children that have spent much time with Chloe. I received a text from Teagan's girl scout leader, during a zoo field trip, letting me know that all the girls now refer to pandas as Bao Bao's. Chloe is a trend setter!
We invited a small group of family and friends to celebrate at a nearby park. Sean had taken the day off and took charge of ordering the cake, picking up pizza, and setting up the picnic area. Yay for Baba!! Made my life so much easier as I just had to show up with the birthday girl.
When it came time for cake, Chloe was unsure of what we were asking her to do. She looked at the cake, stuck her fingers in the icing, but wasn't sure why we were telling her to blow the candles out. It took a few tries, and eventually Sean blowing the candles out, but then she figured it out and blew heartily on the already extinguished candles.
Present time proved to be the best part. The first present she opened was a cute little outfit. She pulled it out of the box and quickly pulled her shirt up, time for a change mom! That was the first of three outfits she wore that day. Two more were worn later at home. Surprisingly, the winning outfit was a dress we had picked up to be a present from Gigi. She went through a stage of hating dresses, but I'm glad to see that stage is gone.

I realized halfway into the party that I wasn't thinking too clearly about the timeframe of said party. I scheduled it right during nap time. Luckily, she was so pumped from the excitement of the party and the park that the crankiness didn't set in until it was time to head home. Unfortunately for me, nap time from 3:30-5 is not optimal for getting a toddler to sleep at a reasonable hour. Bedtime came quite a bit later than normal, but no one was too concerned as she happily played with all her new toys with Teagan and Ben.

A great day was had by all! So blessed to call this girl ours. We can't wait to see what the future holds for Chloe!
